More Than Weight

The benefits of exercise are commonly paired with weight loss. Although a welcomed bonus, exercise needs good nutrition to decrease one’s size. All the working out in the world is no match for bad nutrition; so, yes, weight loss is the welcomed bonus gift, but far from the only benefit of exercise. Your body will thank you so much more for the other benefits that allow it to function properly.

So, what are the other benefits of exercise? To name a few, improved memory, mental clarity, better circulation, and faster information processing. This happens by endorphins rising which helps with concentration and allows faster responses. It also stimulates the brain to produce new brain cells keeping your brain healthy and young. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Increased self-esteem is another powerful benefit. When you feel better inside, it shows on the outside. Better sleep is something most people need. Working out regulates your sleep schedule so you not only sleep better but awake refreshed. Speaking of refreshed, exercise gives you a good jolt of energy to power through your day. Don’t forget to keep that energy high all day the food you fuel your body with determines how long your energy lasts.

Quick Tip: Avoid working out two hours before bed to avoid a surge of energy preventing you from sleeping.

Lastly, one of the best things about working out is it gives your immune system a strong boost. Who doesn’t need a stronger immune system during a pandemic?

Do yourself a favor and stay active!
